On June 21, 2025 Ms. Kihanna Patterson, reporter for WAVY- TV 10, received an Emmy Award from the Capital Emmys for sharing the powerful story of the I. Sherman Greene Chorale during Black History Month in 2024 titled “The Man Behind the Baton.” Longtime Chorale members Mr. Ferman Covington and Ms. Ann McInnis were highlighted in the interview as well as current director, Dr Lydia Toliver. This award is a testament of the impact of amazing educators, perseverance, faith, and dedication.
